FREEFORM BOULDER BLACK OPAL ORIGINATING FROM THE FAMOUS OPALTON FIELD IN AUSTRALIA, measuring 1.6 cm X 0.7cm X 0.4cm.
Boulder opal is one of the most distinctive types of Australian opal, found exclusively in Queensland. It forms within cracks, fissures, and voids in the host ironstone rock. This particular stone is essentially a naturally occurring doublet – a black opal (thin layer of crystal opal against a layer of black potch) affixed to ironstone. This stone features a dark background color with vivid rolling red and blue flashes within the opal. Metaphysically, opals are associated with optimism, creativity, and emotional healing. They are believed to spark inspiration, enhance intuition, and promote clarity in meditation
