OVAL SHAPED LIGHTNING RIDGE CRYSTAL OPAL DOUBLET; Measures 1cm X 0.5cm. Crystal opals
Valued as the second most precious type after black opals, they are transparent to translucent, allowing light to pass through and revealing a beautiful, brilliant play of color. This doublet is a thin layer of Lightning Ridge crystal opal firmly affixed to a layer of ironstone. The backing serves to highlight and enhance the vivid peacock blue-green color of the opal.
