Measures 1.5cm 1cm. Crystal opals, valued as the second most precious type after black opals, are transparent to translucent, allowing light to pass through and revealing a beautiful, brilliant play of color. This doublet is a thin layer of Lightning Ridge crystal opal firmly affixed to a layer of ironstone. The backing serves to highlight and enhance the vivid, peacock-blue green color of the opal.
